#22 Ellis Island (1892)

The establishment of Ellis Island is especially significant because of the families that this method of immigrant inspection. It was 1895 when my cousin Petey and his wife and children immigrated from Ireland. Petey and his wife had an awful head cold from the boat ride into Ellis island and both were immediately sent back to Ireland. Currently his children live with me, and I still don't know what happened to Petey and his wife. This is one example of the many family structures damaged by the government.
