As a newspaper writer, I am a fan of highly provocative literature. In my lifetime, there hasn't been a book as emotionally provocative as Harriet Beecher Stowe's "Uncle Tom's Cabin." It exposed the atrocities of slavery to the many people in the north that were ignorant of slavery. As a writer, I hope to achieve half of what Beecher achieved. I remember Lincoln went on record saying she was "the little lady that caused this war"
